The Housing Authority of the County of Kern (Housing Authority) is seeking proposals from Architectural firms for the purpose of entering into an agreement for architectural
services for the modernization of a Public Housing development in Bakersfield, CA under the Rental Assistance Demonstration Program. One architectural firm will be selected to
provide services for the site. The project requiring architectural services is the modernization of the following site in Bakersfield, CA: The project has been modernized multiple times in the past 20 years
and will require field verify of existing conditions. Scope of work: Anticipated work
o Interior and Exterior painting
o Flooring replacement
o Cabinets and Countertop replacement
o Plumbing fixture replacement
o Mechanical equipment replacement
o Electrical fixtures and wiring replacement
o Roofing replacement
o Interior and Exterior door/hardware replacement
o Window replacement
o Interior ADA updates to meet current requirements
o Exterior ADA updates to meet current requirements
o Add additional ADA units as required per funding sources
o New and/or replacement of site fencing
o New and/or replacement of site concrete
o Tree trimming
o Landscape-Irrigation repairs and/or replacement
o Remove and replace existing playground equipment with new
o Solar Scope of Service:
Architectural and Professional services will include but are not limited to:
o Construction Documents
o Cost estimate
o Permitting Process
o Construction Bidding
o Limited Construction Administration
o Value engineering as needed
o Architect's services include *civil, *surveying, mechanical, electrical, plumbing,
solar, *landscaping and other similar services as needed. * As extra services as
needed
Particular attention will The Authority reserves the right at any time during the term of the contract to change the amounts and types of insurance required by giving the Consultant ninety (90) days advance written notice of such change. If such change results in substantial additional cost to the Consultant, the Authority and Consultant may renegotiate Consultant's compensation.
