PURPOSE: This Scope of Work describes the demolition, design and build of a chain-link fence at North Landing River Natural Area Preserve (NLR NAP). Funding for this project comes from a grant awarded by the Department of Environmental Quality CZM grant. The Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) - Division of Natural Heritage (DNH) owns and manages NLR/NAP. BACKGROUND: NLR NAP is a 3,441 acre preserve located in the City of Virginia Beach between Blackwater Road and the North Landing River. NLR NAP hosts various Element Occurrences, including multiple natural communities, faunal species, and floral species. The fence will separate private property and the preserve. The existing boundary line is grown up with young trees and shrubs. A gravel road runs parallel to the proposed construction site. A locked gate exists near Blackwater Rd. Project must be completed no later than November 30, 2024.
