Site work for a development in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Completed plans call for site work for a development.
Installation of approximately 740 linear feet of five foot tall, galvanized, commercial grade, Chain-link fence with one 36" gate at designated location. All Inquiries for Information Should Be Directed To: Barbara Little, Procurement Officer at barbara.little@dcr.virginia.gov. All questions must be received via email by 4:00 PM September 27, 2024. All questions must be in writing and will be answered in writing, by email or addendum. Scope of Work: 1. Remove all brush, needed to install fence. No trees larger than three inches in diameter shall be removed unless approve by the Preserve Stewards. Presevere Stewarts will give detailed description of where brush must be cut. 2. Install approximately 740 linear feet of five foot tall, galvanized, commercial grade, Chain-link fence with one 36" gate at designated location. i. American made and produced materials shall be used to the greatest extent possible. ii. Concrete must be used to secure fence posts 3. Contractor must verify all measurements and locations. DCR/DNH will make available copies of all applicable deeds, plats, maps, shape files and engineering plans to the contractor. PURPOSE: This Scope of Work describes the demolition, design and build of a chain-link fence at North Landing River Natural Area Preserve (NLR NAP). Funding for this project comes from a grant awarded by the Department of Environmental Quality CZM grant. The Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) - Division of Natural Heritage (DNH) owns and manages NLR/NAP. BACKGROUND: NLR NAP is a 3,441 acre preserve located in the City of Virginia Beach between Blackwater Road and the North Landing River. NLR NAP hosts various Element Occurrences, including multiple natural communities, faunal species, and floral species. The fence will separate private property and the preserve. The existing boundary line is grown up with young trees and shrubs. A gravel road runs parallel to the proposed construction site. A locked gate exists near Blackwater Rd. Project must be completed no later than November 30, 2024.
