The University of Tennessee is accepting quotes for a high-performance dilution refrigerator system. This system will support advanced experimental research in electrical and thermal transport measurements at extremely low temperatures. This equipment will be utilized by multiple research groups across departments including Physics, Materials Science & Engineering, and Electrical Engineering, necessitating a versatile and modular system that can adapt to a wide range of experimental setups and requirements. The desired system should operate at a base temperature of less than 10 mK, provide a cooling power greater than 400 uW at 100 mK, and include features such as vector and solenoid magnets for various magnetic field applications. The acquisition of this system aims to enhance our research capabilities, improve experimental efficiency, and facilitate groundbreaking research in low-temperature sciences. The dilution refrigerator system must meet the following specifications: o Base Temperature: < 10 mK o Cooling Power: o 14 uW at 20 mK o 400 uW at 100 mK o Gas handling system: o Automated control, condition monitoring, and safety features o Maintenance-free multi-stage roots main circulation pump o Magnets (interchangeable): o A vector magnet (9T-1T-1T) and three axis power supply o A solenoid magnet with magnetic field >= 12 T o Modular design: o Ability to customize and expand the system for a wide range of experimental needs o Ability to detach individual modules for repair or replacement to minimize downtime o Bottom Loading Mechanism (for reduces sample exchange time) o Computer-controlled, motorized load-lock mechanism o Cooling power: <= 50 uW at 100 mK o Cooling-down time to 20 mK: < 8 hours o Wiring: o DC wiring: two 12x twisted pairs from RT stage to mixing chamber o DC wiring: one 12x twisted pair from RT stage to 4K stage o RF wiring: total eight RF lines from RT to mixing chamber stage o Cryogenic low-pass filtering o Experimental Flange Diameter: >= 294 mm Deadline for Questions September 30, 2024 Respondents may ask the Office of Procurement Services questions in writing via email to the email address The following University office is managing this solicitation: The University of Tennessee Office of Procurement Services 505 Summer Place- UT Tower #1044 Knoxville, TN 37902 Regarding the subject matter of this solicitation, respondents may only communicate with staff members of the University's Office of Procurement Services.
