Grace Scheidt, Purchasing Analyst grace.scheidt@unlv.edu with copy to purchasingunlv@unlv.edu 702-895-1893 or 702-895-3521 To install: An attached 80 mil single-ply PVC roofing membrane utilizing RhinoBond attachment including flashings and other components, to comprise a roofing system for the structure of interest. The existing Built-Up Roofing system at MPE-G is to be removed down to the existing plywood substrate. 1. All of the plastic roof cement on the project is presumed to be ACM and will have to be abated by a licensed abatement contractor and disposed of accordingly. The plastic roof cement is located primarily at the inside and outside corners of mechanical curbs, wall flashing corners, VTRs, through wall scuppers, and relief cuts at the crickets. 2. Existing equipment curbs and walls are to be flashed with 60 mil PVC membrane. New equipment curbs are to receive a 60 mil PVC fiberglass-reinforced flashing membrane. 3. Provide a new layer of 1/2" Dens-Deck roof board is to be mechanically fastened directly to the substrate using #15 Fasteners and RhinoBond plates in accordance with Section 3.05 of this specification. 4. A new 80 mil PVC, polyester-reinforced, PVC membrane is to be welded to the RhinoBond plate in accordance with Section 3.06 of this specification. 5. The color of the membrane is to be EnergySmart White. Install a new clad metal detail at the perimeter edge where required per the following specifications and detail requirements. Install per PVC manufacturer's details and installation requirements. Install new through wall primary and overflow scuppers made from PVC clad metal, the through wall throat of the scuppers will have the metal seam located on the top of the through wall portion of the scuppers and welded water-tight with PVC membrane per the manufacturer's published and approved details. The size of the existing primary through wall scuppers will be increased from their current dimensions to 6" wide by 6" tall. New wood blocking will be installed at the enlarged through wall scuppers openings to support the scuppers and as a point of attachment. 6. Install new surface mounted counter flashing where required. Install per PVC manufacturer's details and installation requirements. 7. At all A/C or Mechanical unit access panels, install a new PVC Crossgrip walkway. Install per PVC manufacturer's recommended detail and installation requirements. The walk pad will be placed at all of the service panels of the HVAC units and will extend 3' beyond the edges of the accessible service panels of the mechanical equipment. The contractor will install a walk pad at all access and egress points of the roof. 8. Flash each penetration with a cone flashing membrane per PVC manufacturer's standard written and detailed requirements. Any and all pitch pans are to be removed and each penetration flashed individually. 9. Flash new scuppers with new PVC clad metal per PVC manufacturer's standard written and detailed requirements. 10. A 20-Year Systems Warranty shall be provided to the Owner upon completion as described in Section 1.0 of this specification. A 5-year Contractor watertight warranty will be issued upon completion and final inspection by the Manufacturer's technical inspector and all punch list items have been completed by the contractor. 11. The Contractor will replace the three existing 3-ton heat pumps with Carrier units, model #50GCQJ04A2A60A0A0, Nominal 3 ton package heat pump units 460 V, 3 phase units, with heat strips and fresh air intake package. Reuse the existing disconnects fused knife switch disconnect. Replace existing water-tight whips for power and thermostat wires from roof penetration to the new units. Run new copper condensation lines to the nearest roof drain maintaining proper slope and sleepers with a separator sheet to protect the newly installed roof membrane. T-stats will not be changed the contractor will reuse the existing. Commission units and check for proper operation. All mechanical work will be done by a licensed and insured with the state of Nevada mechanical contractor.
