Plans call for a new Jack and Shanaz Langson Institute and Museum of California Art (Langson IMCA) tp be moved into a new facility on the University of Irvine Campus within the next several years. Per the owner, as of December 11, 2025, per the owner, this project has been cancelled. In late September, the university finalized an agreement to acquire the Orange County Museum of Art. After acquiring the museum, they have shifted their efforts to utilizing that space in nearby Costa Mesa and are no longer pursuing a plan to build a museum on campus.
