Electrical Service Upgrade and Pedestals at Harnischfeger Park, Ixonia, WI Land Resources & Parks Department, County, WI Question Deadline 10/02/2024 Deadline for questions: Questions must be emailed to: tsteinbach@co.dodge.wi.us County is requesting bids from qualified firms who can provide electrical service upgrade, installation of eight (8) 100 amp (50/30/20 GFCI) single phase, electrical pedestals for campsites and other electrical work as specified at County Harnischfeger Park in Ixonia, WI. This project is being supported, in whole or in part, by federal award number RT84E76DK1Z1 awarded to the County of by the U.S. Department of the Treasury. County reserves the right to waive any informalities or technicalities and to reject any and all bids or parts thereof deemed to be unsatisfactory or not in the County s best interest. Furthermore, County reserves the right to cancel any order or contract for failure of the successful firm/contractor to comply with the terms, conditions and specifications of the request and/or contract. County reserves the right to award this request to the firm/contractor whose bid is overall the most advantageous to the County in the County s sole determination. Harnischfeger Electrical Upgrade Project Specifications o Install one (1) new 600-amp, 120/240 volt single phase electric service, including; Add one (1) new 600-amp transformer/service near South Barn Silo (placement TBD based on most efficient and effective location). Coordinate transformer installation/service with We Energies. Utility transformer pads per We Energies Specifications. We Energies/Utility fees associated with transformer/service upgrades and new transformer/service to be paid by County. o Provide and install two (2) Exterior 200-amp panel boards, one (1) Exterior 600- amp CT Cabinet, meter, disconnects and grounding as required per code. Panel board shall meet We Energies specifications of Outdoor Free Standing Meter Structures. o Divide new electrical services to most efficiently and effectively support electrical demand for campsites and associated pedestals. o Install eight (8), 100A Midwest model #U075CP6010 electrical pedestals on 4"x6"x10' treated posts - one (1) at each campsite (supplied by County). o Provide and install branch circuit and one (1) single gang GFCI weatherproof while in use receptacle next to the office building. Receptacle may be installed direct to building or on a 4"x6"x8' treated post. TBD by bidder/contractor for most efficient mounting. o Provide and install direct buried aluminum wire with tracer tape to all pedestals, receptacles and new/upgraded electrical utilities. o Disconnect power and remove existing campsite pedestals - six (6) total. o Remove existing underground electrical enclosure boxes - two (2) total. o Disconnect existing 200-amp panel inside South Barn and re-connect to new exterior 200-amp panel on free standing structure. o Provide and install a Type 3, motion activated LED pole light on entrance road directly across from Dump Station. Light should be secured to a 20"-24" Sonotube concrete base. Base should be a minimum of 2' above ground level. Desired height of light is approximately 15'. Height placement TBD by bidder/contractor based on most efficient and effective height. o Provide and install direct buried aluminum wire with tracer tape to existing 20/30- amp pedestal on south concrete pad. o Provide and install direct buried aluminum wire with tracer tape to existing GCFI receptacle and light on the canoe/kayak rack. o All equipment provided by bidder/contractor shall be commercial, outdoor rated. o Comply with electrical codes and provide electrical permits Provide all necessary trenching for wire and subsequent backfilling of trenches. Backfilling with excavated soil and 6" of topsoil (provided by County) to above grade level for settling. Backfill surrounding wire shall be free of rocks. Seeding provided by County. o Where it is not efficient or effective to use existing conduit under roads for wire install, boring under roads and paths is desired, however trenching through the road or paths is acceptable where needed for efficient and effective wire routing. Road trenching will require backfill with minimum 9" compacted road gravel topped with minimum 4" compacted crushed asphalt millings or similar patch to match road grade to be provided and installed by bidder/contractor.
