Site work for a playground / park / athletic field in Berkeley Heights, New Jersey. Completed plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field.
The UCIA is seeking to install a multi-use sport turf field to replace the existing multi-use spork natural grass field. The UCIA also wants to include a walking path, lighting, parking lot expansion and a restroom facility. The Project schedule anticipates the commencement of construction of the Project (Notice to Proceed) on or about November 19, 2024 in order to achieve substantial completion, with a Temporary Certificate of Occupancy at a minimum, and ready for occupancy by the County by no later than June 19, 2025, which is 212 Calendar Days from the issuance of the Notice to Proceed. This Project is being partially funded through State and Federal Grants awarded by the State of New Jersey. The Federal Grant funding is through the Coronavirus State Fiscal Recovery Fund-G2023- 79 under the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, P.L. 117-2, as amended. The Project is being procured as a lump sum bid proposal and the Contract will be subject to New Jersey's Prevailing Wage Act, N.J.S.A. 34:11-56.25 et seq. In general, the work on this project consists of the demolition of the existing site, construction of a new asphalt parking lot complete with lighting; construction of two (2) concrete boat ramps; construction of a new restroom building complete with water, sewer and electrical services; construction of a pavilion with decorative concrete; construction of playground areas complete with poured-in-place rubber surfacing, seating areas and shade structures; construction of a new fitness area and synthetic rubber surface walking track; construction of new asphalt multi-purpose walking trails and concrete sidewalks; construction of various stormwater infrastructure with fencing; installation of various site amenities to including picnic tables, benches, shed, signage, bike rack, drinking fountain, and waste receptacles; and installation of topsoil and seed/sod, irrigation and landscaping 2. Contractor shall be responsible for furnishing and installing all soil erosion and sediment control per the contract documents. 3. Contractor shall be responsible for demolition of curb, asphalt, stone gravel, pavers, concrete, fencing, utilities, and trees/landscaping as shown on the contract documents. 4. Construction of concrete and asphalt walkways, fencing, concrete curbing, onsite utilities, stormwater systems, irrigation and landscaping as shown on the contract documents. 5. Furnish and install new restroom building construction facilities complete per the contract documents. Contractor shall be responsible to provide all items as listed on the project drawings and specifications and price shall include, but is not limited to, foundations, structural fill, DGA, wall systems, roof systems and accessories, architectural elements and finishes, furniture, and all appurtenances and all costs necessary to provide a fully functional building space for construction of process, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical equipment. 6. Furnish and install new pavilion structure complete per the contract documents. Contractor shall be responsible to provide all items as listed on the project drawings and specifications and price shall include, but is not limited to, foundations, stone veneer, cap stone, decorative column wrap, stamped concrete slab, and all appurtenances and all costs necessary to install the pavilion. 7. Furnish and install playground and fitness equipment complete per the contract documents. Contractor shall be responsible to provide all items as listed on the project drawings and specifications and price shall include, but is not limited to, ordering of equipment, delivery of equipment to the site, foundation preparation and installation, inspection, and all necessary items required to fully install the specified equipment. 8. Proposed site furnishings include two (2) 20' x 20' shade structures, six (6) standard picnic tables, two (2) ADA accessible picnic tables, a bike rack, a drinking fountain, thirty-nine (39) benches, fifteen (15) waste receptacles, and a shed. 9. Equivalent manufacturers have been provided in this specification. Any variations between these manufacturers are considered de minimus. The cost for any and all changes to the design due to variations between the two equivalents, including plumbing, HVAC, electrical, structural, site work, etc., shall be included in the various items bid within the proposal. The Contractor is responsible and obligated to successfully complete the entire project and to complete each and every necessary detail of every item required per bid documents. The contractor shall field verify all measurements prior to construction and/or preparation of shop drawings. Contractor is advised that this is lump sum contract. All work as indicated and incidental to work completion shall be incorporated into the project scope. The Bidder shall be responsible for delivery of all such RFIs to Dr. Bibi Taylor, Executive Director at btaylorUCIA@ucnj.org, with a copy to Jessica Hauber at jessica.hauber@rve.com, via email and to Troy Marzziotti at tmarzziotti@mastconstruction.com, no later than October 15, 2024. No oral interpretations and responses will be made. Responses to all RFI's will be made by Addenda no later than October 18, 2024.
