Renovation of a library in Anacortes, Washington. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 64,800-square-foot library.

The project scope is to upgrade the existing Young Adults area of the library to create an acoustical barrier between the existing youth area and the main reading room. This will be achieved by building partition walls from the top of the existing floor slab to the underside of the existing floor above with metal stud walls and glazing panels for visual security and to allow natural light to filter into the space. Includes partial demolition (shallow trench cutting) of the existing slab to allow for the recessed threshold installation of a new nanawall system to divide the youth area into two spaces when youth programming calls for it. In addition, minor electrical work to provide additional outlets for computers and charging as well as modification of the existing light fixtures to accommodate the new space boundaries. There will be some insulation work in the new partition walls, gwb work, painting, and finish repair and carpet replacement. New collection/book cases will line the new walls on the reading room side to terminate at the sill of the new glazing systems. No plumbing is proposed. If Fire Sprinklers need to be relocated, a deferred plan submittal will be provided. Physical Completion shall be achieved within 90 working days, in accordance with the notice to proceed. A bid deposit equal to 5% of the bid amount is required.
