The Maryland State Highway Administration's Office of Maintenance Facility Operation Division Hanover Complex is soliciting a lump sum bid for a contractor to demolish, fabricate, and replace up to 190 lineal feet of stepped custom steel rain gutter. This contract provides for commercial vendors that possess the tools, knowledge, and skillset to complete this task at the State Highway Administration Hanover Complex Office of Traffic Safety OOTS Building. The vendor is to use best practices established in the construction industry to perform this work in a safe manner, adhering to OSHA, MOSH, codes, regulations, and standards. The vendor shall be licensed to perform work in the state of Maryland. The existing gutter system appears to be fabricated from prefinished 24-gauge stucco embossed steel. The standing seam metal roof panels also originate from the same material. The sheet metal gutter sits below the roof eave, seemingly designed to continue the decorative sheet metal cornice/soffit assembly. The gutter is deteriorating in varying degrees, from surface rust to completely rusted through A bid box is in Building #1, Office of Maintenance in the security guard area. Installation of new gutters. o Contractor Shall furnish all labor, tools, and materials necessary to perform and complete task. o Contractor shall field verify all dimensions and materials by visiting job site prior to providing a bid proposal. o Outline the technical requirements to replace 190 lineal feet standard steel gutter o The Contractor shall fabricate, sections of 24-gauge steel gutter system to match the existing gutter; see sketch below. (Note it will be the responsibility of the contractor to take all field measurements. o Install approximately 190 linear feet of stepped custom steel rain gutter to match existing gutter color. o Install all new accessories required for replacement that will provide for a seal tight gutter system o Mate remaining, existing, gutters to new work. o Make appropriate, watertight, and waterproof connections to existing system. 3. Install all new hangers and straps required for new installation and re-securement. Apply sealants and synthetic rubber gutter seal to gutters and other surfaces adjoining or adjacent to metal joints. 4. Prior to awarding the contract, the contractor must provide the client with a comprehensive plan for their approval. 5. Restore the work areas to the pre-construction state and the contract shall provide a minimum 18-month workmanship warranty starting the date of the completion of the project. Any information regarding the requirements or the interpretation of any provision of the Contract Documents shall be requested, in writing, and delivered no fewer than five (5) business days before bid opening.
