Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Newton, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.

The successful bidder will be required to furnish a Labor and Materials Payment Bond in the amount of 50% of the contract total Perform all work required to complete the work of the Section, as indicated. Such work includes, but is not limited to, the following: 1. Clearing, grubbing, and disposing of vegetation, including bushes, brush, trees, stumps, roots, rubbish, refuse, trash and debris within the indicated limits. 2. Protection from injury to or defacement of trees and other vegetation and objects indicated or designated by the landscape architect or civil engineer to be preserved. 3. Removal, salvage, or other disposition of slabs and footings, existing pavement, curbs, sidewalks, walls, steps, structures, signage and posts, fencing, and all other site improvements which interfere with construction as indicated, or as required, by the landscape architect or civil engineer. 4. Coordination of disconnection and capping of utilities and/or removal or relocation of utilities and utility poles, as needed. 5. Saw cutting new openings and saw cutting demolition limits into existing construction. 6. Stripping and stockpiling topsoil 7. Installation of construction fencing The term of this contract shall extend from day of contract execution through April 30, 2025. Work will start from the issuance of a written Work Order prepared by City Planning and Development Department. Award will be made to the responsible and eligible bidder offering the lowest Bid Price on Bid Form #25-13. The costs of any bond and any insurance required in this IFB are the responsibility of the bidder; such costs will not be reimbursed by City and should be included in your bid. Bidders requiring clarification or interpretation of the Contract Documents shall make a written request to the Chief Procurement Officer, at purchasing@newtonma.gov or via facsimile (617) 796-1227. The City will only answer such requests if received by Friday, October 4, 2024 at 12:00 noon. In the event that the bid opening date is changed, the deadline for informational requests may also change as provided in an addendum issued by the City.
