Broward Health is requesting quotes from qualified Elevator Contractors for the modernization of one (1) geared and five (5) gearless traction elevators located at 1600 S. Andrews Avenue, Fort Lauderdale, Florida 33316. Modernization of traction elevators 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 in Broward Health Medical Center (BHMC) as well as traction elevator 3 in the North Parking Garage (NPG). Work shall include new controllers, machine refurbishment as specified, hall and car door equipment, select doors, wiring, fixtures, and other work as detailed in the Specifications. All work must be in accordance with the conditions, specifications, and terms listed herein. 1. SCOPE OF WORK The traction elevator portion of this project covers the furnishing and installation of labor and materials to modernize five traction elevators (7-8-9-10-11) at BHMC. Serial numbers 03821 (7), 06581 (8), 03801 (9), 06580 (10), and 26350 (11); and serial number 500387 for traction elevator number three (3) in the NPG. BHMC Staff Cars 8 and 10 are a group operation. BHMC Public Cars 7,9,11 are a group operation. NPG Car 3 is a simplex operation. A. Work is to be coordinated so that each elevator is returned to service for the building occupants within the timeframe detailed on a mutually agreeable schedule. B. Remove and dispose of all existing equipment listed to be replaced for each elevator. C. Removal includes but is not limited to, controllers, geared traction machines, refurbishment of gearless traction machines, hall fixtures, car operating panels, hall and car door equipment, car doors, select hall doors, wiring, and signaling devices. D. Provide equipment as specified herein, including controllers, auxiliary brakes, geared traction machines, refurbishment of gearless traction machines, hall fixtures, car operating panels, signal devices, hall and car door equipment, car doors, select hall doors, leveling system, travel cables/wiring, and other components required to produce complete, fully compliant elevator system, suitable for the intended use. E. Cab controls, audible signals, all directional indicators, lights, Braille signage, and communication equipment shall be installed in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act Accessibility Guideline and the Florida Accessibility Code volume of the Florida Building Code. F. The required permits shall be obtained from the Broward County, Elevator Division. Contractor is responsible for coordinating the alteration inspections when work is complete prior to releasing equipment for Broward Health's use. Contractor is responsible for permit applications, fees and inspection costs. G. The contractor shall supply and install a complete elevator system, fully functional and operational and suitable in every way for the service required. H. Perform demolition in such a manner as to eliminate hazards to persons or property, provide safeguards including full-height lockable un-perforated barricades, warning signs and other items needed to protect personnel throughout this contract
