Meters shall be positive in action. Discs shall displace a fixed quantity of water for each nutation when operated under positive pressure. Meters shall conform to AWWA C700/C710. All meters shall comply with NSF/ANSI 61 Lead Free requirements (including Annex F and Annex G). With proposal submittal, submit certification that meters comply with these standards. All water meters and encoders must be compatible with the Neptune R900 AMI MIU and certified by Neptune. All meter change-outs will be like for like in size, nutating disc type. The City's current meter reading/route cycle is daily by the Neptune AMI system, billing is performed every two months. * Meter Housing The bottom closure of the outer casing for 5/8", 3/4" and 1" meters shall be provided with an approved frost protection device that will relieve the pressure within the main case and minimize damage to internal parts. Meter bottom plate must indicate if the meter has been damaged due to freezing without disassembling the meter. The chamber shall be secured to the main case so that the accuracy of the meter will not be affected by any distortions of the case when operating at a pressure of 150 psi. All meter bodies shall show meter size, model and serial number and indicate the direction of water flow. All external bolts, nuts and washers shall be made of corrosion resistant material and be easily removed from the main case.
