The Town of Clifton Park is soliciting bids from qualified entities for the replacement of a 162-foot-long x 7-feet wide boardwalk and railing located in the Town of Clifton Park, NY 12065. Scope of work is as follows but not limited to: The boardwalk is located on the path between Chillmark Turn and Oakhurst Court Clifton Park. The project location involves, and crosses regulated wetlands adjacent to the Dwaaskil stream, a regulated stream. This project work shall not impact the wetlands and stream. The existing boardwalk supports are metal techno-posts that are anticipated to remain in place. Remove and dispose of off-site existing boardwalk and railing. Supply all materials needed and rebuild the boardwalk and railings to match original plans using only in ground pressure treated lumber of varying sizes (2x4, 2x6, 4x4, lx1 etc.) and exterior grade fasteners, galvanized joist hangers. NOTE: Do not include the 2x10's that are on the sides of the boardwalk currently, they are a patch for rotten deck boards. The contractor is responsible for scheduling all inspections needed with the town building department. The contractor must always keep the work area safe for the public during demolition and construction. The contractor shall post signs at both ends of the trail with notification of trail closure; and coordinate the closure with the Town. The Town requires proof of Liability Insurance with One Million Dollars naming the Town as an additional insured, as well as appropriate Workers Compensation Insurance and automobile insurance. The prevailing wage rate as described by New York State must be paid. The Town of Clifton Park reserves the right to reject any and all quotes. The Town of Clifton Park reserves the right to require a performance bond of 5% of the bid price.
