Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Galveston, Texas. Completed plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field; sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.

GENERAL SCOPE OF WORK: This project is to have a qualified contractor furnish all labor, tools, equipment, materials and incidentals for ADA improvements of trail surfaces from the Observation Tower Trail parking lot to the Observation Tower and from the Observation Tower extending to the trail boardwalks at Galveston Island State Park. The proposed concrete walkway shall extend from the Observation Tower Trail parking lot to the Observation Tower. Trail surface from the Observation Tower to the Boardwalks trail shall be crushed granite. Concrete walkway from Tower Trail Parking area shall be constructed within ADA compliance standards, to include the transition from parking area to sidewalk, the transition from sidewalk to existing observation tower entrance ramp, and the transition extending beyond the end of sidewalk / Visitor Orientation Panel (VOP) pad to the intersecting granite trail system. It is the intention of TPWD to call for finished work that is tested, and ready for operation. Any apparatus, material or work described in the IFB and related documents, and any incidental accessories necessary to make the work complete in all respects and ready for operation (even though not particularly specified) shall be furnished, delivered, and installed by the Contractor without additional expense to TPWD. Contractor shall take care not to damage any aspect of the building or its contents. BID SECURITY: All bids must be submitted on the forms furnished for that purpose, and each proposal must be accompanied by bid security. The bid security shall be in the form of a bond accompanied by valid power of attorney for not less than five percent (5%) of the total amount of the Bid, including the total of all separate priced items and multiple base pricing items and/or alternate price items and/or optional pricing and/or allowances. To ensure adequate bid security, Bidders should calculate bid security based on the highest possible monetary award. Bidder shall upload a .pdf file of the bid security documents to the bid portal. Bids will be rejected if the appropriate bid security is not furnished in the form specified above and by the time set for receipt of Bids. The Engineer’s Probable Opinion of Cost ranges from $30,000.00 to $35,000.00. *The value for this project is based on a financial range.
