The scope of work involves the replacement and installation of a commercial shingled roof on the City of Walker salt storage building. The project includes all necessary materials, labor, and equipment to complete the work in accordance with the specifications outlined below 1. Remove and dispose of existing roofing material (if applicable). 2. Protect all landscaping and existing features designated to remain. 3. Ensure safe and clear access for all workmen and equipment. 4. Inspect and repair or replace damaged decking as needed. 5. Ensure decking is clean, dry and properly aligned. 6. Furnish and install new underlayment as required for the term of warranty 30 and alternate for 20- year design. 7. Furnish and install Base Bid of a new Architectural Asphalt Shingles with all flashings and details complete for a 30-year labor and material warranty. Note option for 20-year. 8. Ensure proper alignment, nailing pattern and overlap of shingles. 9. Furnish and install new aluminum flashing around all roof penetrations and intersections. 10. Install ice and water shield two-course all around including drip edge and roof cement and sealants. 11. Remove and eliminate fiberglass skylights. 12. Perform a thorough inspection of the roof installation at various stages. 13. Ensure all work complies with local building codes and manufacturer's specifications. The contractor must be licensed with the City of Walker. Contractor will also include a copy of liability insurance, naming the City of Walker as an additional insured. Work shall be completed by 06/30/2025 with work taking place between the dates of 10/04/2024 until 11/15/2024 OR 04/01/2025 until 06/30/2025 unless otherwise stated. if you have additional questions, please contact the Department of Public Works at (616) 791-6854 submitting this Proposal, it is understood that the right is reserved by the City of Walker to reject any or all Proposals and to waive any irregularities in bidding.
