Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Fairmont, West Virginia. Completed plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field; sidewalk / parking lot; for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.
The City of Fairmont is seeking proposals to demolish an existing area that consists of two (2) asphalt basketball courts and construct three (3) new concrete pickleball courts at Windmill Park located at 920 Ogden Avenue, Fairmont, Marion County, West Virginia. The purpose of this Request for Proposal is to provide interested respondents with information to enable them to prepare and submit a proposal to the City of Fairmont for the planning and construction of the pickleball courts. The Site is located near the 920 Ogden Avenue entrance of Windmill Park in Fairmont, WV. The existing basketball courts are made of asphalt and are in a state of deterioration with deep pitting and cracking. The asphalt area to be demoed is approximately 105' x 120'. There is currently a chain link fence around the basketball courts that is proposed to be removed with the demolition. It is unconfirmed, but there is believed to be no drainage around the courts. Plan, engineer, and construct the following to meet all applicable standards: 1. Removal and disposal of the existing 105' x 120' asphalt and four (4) basketball hoops. Optional removal and disposal of existing chain link fence. Note: The City of Fairmont has a designated location for the disposal of asphalt millings. 2. Site prep including recommended drainage for the new courts. 3. New 60' x 100' concrete pad to accommodate three regulation-size pickleball courts. 4. New 10' galvanized perimeter fencing installed with one large gate on the northeast that is able to be locked and one walk gate at the northwest facing the parking lot. 5. Installation of three (3) sets of regulation pickleball posts, anchors, and nets. 6. Sealcoating and lining for all three (3) of the new regulation pickleball courts. The City of Fairmont is seeking proposals for "BID FY25-20: PICKLEBALL COURTS FOR WINDMILL PARK" under the terms and conditions set out further in this Bid Packet. This project will be funded with State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds, and therefore will not be subject to prevailing wage rates. If forwarded by mail, the sealed envelope containing the BID must be enclosed in another envelope addressed to: City of Fairmont Attention: Purchasing Coordinator 200 Jackson Street, Room 305 Fairmont, WV 26554 The City of Fairmont will not be responsible in the event the U.S. Postal Service or any other courier system fails to deliver the submissions to the City of Fairmont by the given deadline.
