The work consists of installing approximately 700 LF of 8" PVC gravity sewer, 75 LF of 6" PVC gravity sewer, and 125 LF of boring and jacking steel casing pipe. The work also includes miscellaneous improvements, and all necessary materials, labor, equipment, and associated appurtenances required for completion of the work. All questions regarding the project and bid documents must be submitted electronically to the Engineer's office. Please note that all questions must be submitted by the end of the day on October 21, 2024 The Scope of Work as described herein is defined as "utility contracting" in accordance with O.C.G.A 43-14-2(17) so the Contractor performing the work must provide proof of a valid license by the State of Georgia as a "Utility Contractor" and must also employ a "Utility Manager" certification holder who will have oversight of all the work. Contractor submitting a bid must list the license number of the Contractor performing the utility contracting on the Bid form and provide proof of a valid license. See Instruction to Bidders for additional requirements. Bids shall be accompanied by a Bid Bond or a certified cashier's check, the value of which should not be less than five percent (5%) of the overall bid amount. All bonds must be countersigned by a Georgia Resident Agent and should be submitted with a corresponding "Power of Attorney." The successful bidder is required to provide both a Performance Bond and Payment Bond, each in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the awarded Contract amount. The project is scheduled to be completed within the contract time of 60 days. The entire scope of work will be awarded as a single contract. Payment for the work will be disbursed at regular intervals, contingent upon the submission of the Contractor's Applications for Payment, which will be reviewed and approved by the Engineer Owner reserves the right to delay the award of the Contract for a period not to exceed sixty (60) days from the date of opening of the bids, during which time bids shall remain open and not subject to withdrawal. Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any technicalities or irregularities and to award the bid based on the highest and best interests of the City.
