Remove the current timber pier and replace. The end of pier depth at mean high water is about 9 feet. Confirm depths prior to ordering material. Replacement work consists of wood piles, timber framing, concrete planking and fiberglass breakwater on the ramp side of the pier. Contractors are hereby notified that they must have proper license under the State laws governing their respective trades and that North Carolina General Statute 87 is observed in receiving and awarding contracts. General Contractors must have a general license classification for S (Marine Construction) or Building Contractor. No bid may be withdrawn after the opening of bids for a period of 30 days. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and waive informalities. Only submit bids using the BID/ACEPTANCE form provided herein. Properly insert information where indicated and execute with the appropriate signatures. Email bids in PDF format in lieu of delivering an original. Shade seals on emailed Bid/Acceptance forms so they are visible in the PDF. Contact Greg Johnson to verify receipt of bids. Upon notification, the apparent low bidder mails a Bid/Acceptance form with original signatures to DEQ Division of Facilities, Health and Safety at the address indicated. Question Deadline 10/16/2024 Communicate at least seven days prior to Bid Opening to address substitutions, clarifications, interpretations or omissions. The Contractor shall commence work to be performed under this Contract on a date to be specified in written order from the Designer/Owner and shall fully complete all work hereunder within 60 consecutive calendar days from the Notice to Proceed. For each day in excess of the above number of days, the Contractor shall pay the Owner the amount of Fifty Dollars ($50.00) as liquidated damages reasonably estimated in advance to cover the losses to be incurred by the Owner should the Contractor fail to complete the Work within the time specified.
