The City of Suffolk has issued this sealed Request for Proposal (RFP) for the purpose of obtaining responsive proposals from qualified firms to provide the leasing, including maintenance services, of pad generators for City facilities including: Suffolk City Hall, Airport, Fire and Rescue Facilities, Police Facilities, Potable Water Pumping Stations, Communications Facilities, Health and Human Services Facilities, Schools, Sanitary Sewer Pumping Stations, Water Treatment Plant, Emergency Shelters and other designated sites. Work Location: Suffolk, VA 23434 The intent is to obtain the services of a contractor to provide leasing and all maintenance services for generators for City facilities including Suffolk City Hall, Airport, Fire and Rescue Facilities, Police Facilities, Potable Water Pumping Stations, Communications Facilities, Health and Human Services Facilities, Schools, Sanitary Sewer Pumping Stations, Water Treatment Plant, Emergency Shelters, and other designated sites. Also included is the leasing of portable, trailer mounted electrical generators for deployment to various locations across the City. The City seeks a "turnkey" solution for generators that will include the design, installation, removal and all maintenance of generators and transfer switches. The respondents to this RFP shall not contact, either directly or indirectly, any other employee or agent of the City regarding this RFP. The City is currently leasing approximately 100 generators/automatic transfer switches at locations throughout the City. The generators provide backup power when the when conditions render the existing power source inoperable. A list of current sites is included as an attachment. The City reserves the exclusive right to add or delete locations. It is understood that the quantities are informational only. The City shall not be obligated to lease any quantity, but reserves the right to lease generators and transfer switches as requirements dictate. The contract shall begin January 1, 2025 and continuing through December 31, 2025. This contract may be renewed based on the terms and conditions herein at the expiration of its term at the sole option of the City for four (4) additional one-year periods through December 31, 2029. The contract will automatically renew during these periods. The City retains the sole right not to renew the contract by providing thirty (30) day written notification prior to expiration of the term.
