Reference Number : 0000364566 This project includes the implementation of bicycle and pedestrian safety enhancements, including, but not limited to, the installation of a Pedestrian Hybrid Beacon (PHB) at the Grant Road crosswalk at Sleeper Avenue, speed humps at the intersection of Sleeper Avenue and Franklin Avenue, the installation of a rectangular rapid-flashing beacon (RRFB) at the crosswalk of Dale Avenue and Heatherstone Way, and installation of NoTraffic System at the intersection of Grant Road and Sleeper Avenue, Grant Road and Cuesta Drive, and Grant Road and Eunice Avenue. Each proposal shall be accompanied by cash, cashier's or certified check, or by a bidder's bond, made payable to the City of Mountain View and executed as surety by some corporation authorized to issue surety bonds in the State of California, for an amount equal to at least ten percent (10%) of the amount of said bid, and no bid shall be considered unless such cash, cashier's or certified check, or bidder's bond is enclosed therewith. A bidder's bond will not be accepted unless it conforms to the bond form included in the "Contract Documents and Specifications" for the project and is properly filled out and executed. Blanks conforming to the above-mentioned form can be obtained by request from the Engineer. If desired, the bond form included in the "Contract Documents and Specifications" for the project, properly filled out as directed, may be executed and used as the bidder's bond. Bidders are to be licensed in accordance with the provisions of the "Contractors License Law," Chapter 9 of Division 3 of the State Business and Professions Code. Inspection will be under the direction of the City of Mountain View. The Contractor may elect to receive one hundred percent (100%) of payment due under the contract from time to time, without retention of any portion of the payment by the City, by depositing securities of equivalent value with the City in accordance with the provisions of Section 22300 of the Public Contract Code. Such securities, if deposited by the Contractor, shall be valued by the City's Finance and Administrative Services Director, whose decision on valuation of the securities shall be final.
