The Project generally involves developing the corridor into a complete street by enhancing multimodal operations and safety. Project Limit: West San Carlos Street between I-880 and McEvoy Street. Proposed Improvements: modify intersection corners i.e., bulb-outs, reduce corner radii, to slow turning traffic and increase pedestrian and bicycle safety, add new/enhance existing crosswalks, install ADA compliance curb ramps, RRFB, median islands, bio-retention, bike racks, landscaping and modify traffic signals including adding/upgrading intelligent transportation system (ITS) technologies.
