Plans call for the building of a unique deck park that would span Interstate 10 in downtown El Paso. As of December 3, 2025, the El Paso City Council voted to approve $750,000 in pre-development funding for the project; funding that comes in the wake of an additional $1 million in county funds approved in August by the El Paso County Commissioners Court. Additional funding may be coming through an application submitted to the federal Department of Transportation for a $5 million grant by the El Paso Metropolitan Planning Organization. That grant, if approved, would be specifically used to fund the design work on the project. Information regarding construction manager and general contractor has not been released. Further details regarding construction and completion timelines have not been disclosed.
