Renovation of a mixed-use development in Berwyn, Pennsylvania. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
As of November 25, 2024, project was awarded to the following: DK Construction Services - $58,000.00 (EC) Clipper Pipe & Services, Inc. $181,000.00 (Plumbing) Hirschberg Mechanical $714,400.00 (MC) Donald E. Reisinger, Inc. $114,125.00 (GC), with total awarded of $1,067,525. Bid Package 1 - HVAC Renovations and Upgrades at Beaumont Elementary School (BES), New Eagle Elementary School (NEES), Tredyffrin/Easttown Middle School (TEMS), and Conestoga High School (CHS) (Project # 24-003.01) The project consists of mechanical renovations and upgrades, and associated miscellaneous electrical, plumbing and general trades work at Beaumont Elementary School (BES), New Eagle Elementary School (NEES), Tredyffrin/Easttown Middle School (TEMS), and Conestoga High School (CHS). Work includes mechanical equipment replacement at BES, NEES, and TEMS; Sanitary line replacement at NEES; Domestic hot and cold-water piping at CHS; and duct cleaning at BES and NEES. The Board of School Directors reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive errors or technical defects in the bid or bid forms. Questions regarding this project shall be submitted via online. Location- Beaumont Elementary School , 575 Beaumont Road Berwyn, PA 19312 New Eagle Elementary School , 507 Pugh Road Berwyn, PA 19312 Wayne, PA 19087 Tredyffrin/Easttown Middle School , 801 Conestoga Road Berwyn, PA 19312 Conestoga High School , 200 Irish Road Berwyn, PA 19312 1. Construction Phasing and Sequencing: a. Working hours and dates: Refer to the Division 0 and 1 specifications for all details and requirements. b. Any and all power outages for normal electrical systems in the buildings shall occur Monday thru Friday and shall be requested in writing to the Owner a minimum of 14 days in advance. c. There will be additional summer 2025 work in BES, NEES, TEMS and CHS under a separate project contract. Coordinate with these Contractors for power outages. 2. Demolish electrical conduit, wiring and equipment as shown on the drawings, as required in these specifications and as required to accommodate the new and renovation construction activities and the required construction phasing to allow the Owner to occupy the building during construction. Remove wiring back to the respective source for all associated equipment indicated to be demolished and maintain the electrical circuit integrity as required for equipment to remain. Remove exposed conduit back to the respective source for all associated equipment indicated to be demolished - cut, cap and label conduits that are embedded in permanent walls and floors; provide cutting and patching of the same. 3. For detailed scope of work for each electrical system, refer to the respective Division 26 specification sections. 4. Relocate devices as shown on the plans. 5. Provide and install new light fixtures and controls. 6. Provide new wall mounted 0-10V lighting dimmer switches and associated low-voltage and branch circuit wiring to each associated fixture. 7. Provide and install retrofit breakers in existing panelboards and distribution panels. For new circuit breakers to be retrofitted in the existing panelboards, contractor shall survey the existing panel, determine the manufacturer and ratings of the existing breakers and provide new breakers to match and that are retrofittable into the panelboard and have ratings to match the existing breakers. 8. Provide and install new wiring devices and backboxes. 9. Remove and reinstall lighting and other ceiling devices to accommodate new ceiling. 10. Relocate receptacles and data jacks as required to accommodate new piping enclosures. 11. Provide and install fused or non-fused disconnect switches, or circuit breakers at the various pieces of equipment as required by the N.E.C. Code. 12. Remove, reinstall and relocate or provide new Fire Alarm equipment, including re-programming of the system. Contractor shall re-test fire alarm system (components demolished, relocated and/or new in this project) in accordance with NFPA 72. 13. Provide patching, painting and sealing of all interior openings created by demolishing any equipment or conduit. 14. Adjust connections to electrical motors to insure proper rotation. 15. Provide and install wiring and final connections to all equipment in Mechanical specifications and drawings requiring electrical service. 16. Contractor shall include all required overtime in his bid; the Owner will not provide additional compensation to the Contractor for work performed outside of normal working hours in order to complete the project per schedule and per the required construction phasing and sequencing requirements. 17. Testing and balancing of Electrical system. 18. All necessary rigging. 19. Removal of trash and general clean-up. 20. All necessary permits, approvals, fees, etc. Bid results - GC - Donald E.
