Site work, paving and renovation of a mixed-use development in Canton, Illinois. Completed plans call for the renovation of a multi-residential development; for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot; water / sewer project; and multi-residential development.
Proposals are desired for a single, lump sum general construction contract which shall include, but not be limited to, all labor, tools, equipment, materials and supervision to perform the following work: Longview Apartments: Reseal and restripe asphalt parking lot; repair sidewalk and curb; modify parking lot island; replace exterior service and maintenance doors and hardware; paint exterior spandrel panels, A/C sleeves, and selected window exterior trim jamb covers; replace sixth floor windows, screens, trim, and exterior trim jamb covers at apartments and at the elevator lobby; and exterior joint replacement. Maple Manor Apartments: Replace sixth floor water shutoff valves at each riser and modify selected pipes; and replace exterior receiving and maintenance doors and hardware. Oaklawn Apartments: Replace damaged sidewalk and curb; install two ADA sidewalk ramps in the parking lot; remove and infill six ramps in the parking lot surfaces; concrete parking lot crack grout, fill, and seal; restripe parking lot; sewer line cleaning, scoping, and selective replacement; tree removal and replacement; replace one concrete patio (include disconnecting A/C condenser); and patch and powerwash 29 concrete patios. Bids must include a bid guarantee made payable to the Housing Authority. Bid guarantees will be returned within 10 days of official bid opening, if requested, except for three selected qualified bidders. The unsuccessful bidders will have their bid guarantee returned after award of contract, if requested. The successful bidder must be fully insured and provide an assurance as required by Instructions to Bidders. Additional bid requirements are outlined in Section 00 21 00 S UPPLEMENTAL INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS. All contractors and subcontractors must be in compliance with: Equal Opportunity Employment, Executive Order 11246 and Davis-Bacon wage rates as determined by the U.S. Department of Labor and adopted by the Housing Authority and as set forth in the Project Manual. Submission of U.S. Department of Labor payroll forms is required on a weekly basis. Contractors and subcontractors will commit themselves to making a good faith effort to employ minorities and women. This publicly funded project is subject to the requirements of Section 3 of the Housing and Urban Development Act of 1968. The Housing Authority reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to award the contract to the lowest, responsible and most responsive bidder and to waive any formalities or irregularities in the bids received. No bid shall be withdrawn for a period of ninety (90) days subsequent to the opening of the bids without the consent of the Housing Authority. The Housing Authority reserves the right to award a contract in the best interest of the Housing Authority Furthermore, the Owner encourages minority business enterprises and women-owned businesses to submit a proposal for this project.
