The City of Cambridge is seeking bids to supply bare root trees to the Department of Public Works. The Contractor shall supply the City with an assortment of bare root trees with a caliper range of 1.5 inches to 2 inches. Trees cannot be in containers or B&B; grow bag trees are acceptable only where noted. Absolutely no substitutions will be accepted. Bareroot trees must be dipped in hydrogel slurry and bagged prior to delivery. Payment for all items will be at the contract unit bid price and shall include full compensation for hydrogel dipping and bagging. The nursery stock should be free of insects or pests. The Contractor shall pay close attention to the provisions of the Contract Documents. The City of Cambridge is seeking bids to supply bare root trees to the Department of Public Works. All trees shall be supplied to the City during digging season on a single delivery day, coordinated with and agreed upon by the City. Delivery location is Fresh Pond Golf Course in Cambridge, MA 02139. It is strongly recommended that the bids are submitted online, mailed or delivered in advance of the due date and time. Without exception, responses will not be accepted after the submission deadline regardless of any technical difficulties such as poor internet connections. Sealed general bids will be received at the Purchasing Department, City Hall, 795 Massachusetts Avenue, Cambridge, MA 02139 or via a Grey locked drop box labeled "Purchasing Dept" located at the rear entrance. Bids will also be accepted electronically via the e-Procurement Portal prior to the date and time above. Bids being hand delivered or sent via courier (other than USPS) may be delivered in person to 5 Bigelow Street, Cambridge, MA during normal business hours. It is the responsibility of the Bidder to ensure delivery of bid submission prior to deadline to the Purchasing Department. The undersigned certifies that this bid is made without collusion with any other person, firm or corporation making any other bid or who otherwise would make a bid. The undersigned agrees to furnish the services in strict accordance with the bid documents, which consist of this Invitation for Bid and all attachments hereto. "The submitted bid must be without conditions, exceptions or modifications to the bid document". The envelope containing the bid must be labeled: "This envelope contains a bid for File no. IFB-11872 opened at 11:00 am on Thursday, October 17, 2024. The bid and all documents submitted with it are public records. Question Submission Deadline:October 10, 2024, 11:00am Bids not sent by courier can be dropped off to a locked drop box located at the rear entrance of City Hall. The box will be checked at the scheduled submission deadline. This bid process and the award of the contract are made in conformity with M.G.L. c. 30B, unless otherwise stated. All prices must include delivery fees. The City will unload nursery stock from truck. Deliveries are to be made within the time period designated by the City. The Contract period shall be for one year.
