Construction is estimated to take place in 2026-2027. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: Request for Qualifications for Construction Management Services Wilson Hall - Renovations for Technology Engineering CP2404 This renovation will expand upon the College of Engineering's undergraduate living and learning presence in the south residential neighborhood and proximate to other buildings utilized by the College of Engineering. The BS Technology Engineering (TechE) Program in the College of Engineering at Michigan State University is an innovative program which prepares students for modern engineering challenges in the multidisciplinary, interconnected world. All students complete 8 core courses which develop engineering and technology foundational skills including, but not limited to, manufacturing processes, embedded electronic systems, computer aided design, product prototyping, data science, project management, and computer programming. The program is also built on the basic principle of a vertically aligned curriculum where students will be consistently exposed to the same equipment increasing their skill levels as they progress through their learning experience. Wilson Hall is located at 219 Wilson Road in the south residential neighborhood. The former kitchen and dining spaces of the residence hall will be renovated to create teaching, learning and office space to meet the needs of the new Technology Engineering program. The classroom area of renovation is located on the 2nd floor of the center section of Wilson Hall, in an existing dining area with an area of 20,000 square feet. The scope of work will include infrastructure upgrades including architectural, building envelope, elevator access, plumbing, HVAC equipment and distribution including air conditioning, electrical, fire alarm, Audio/Visual, IT and security. The scope of work will also include the installation of a new fire suppression system and replacement of the existing fire alarm system of the entire building including living wings of approximately 300,000 square feet. Areas of the 1st floor in the center section have existing fire suppression and updated fire alarm.
