Clarification Deadline 10/21/2024 2:00 PM All questions and communications about this request for Proposal and submission requirements must be directed to the City of Waterbury ProcureWare website and must be received 2.1 Removal of Existing Surface o Remove and properly dispose of the existing playground surface. o Inspect and address any underlying issues or damage to the sub-base that could affect the new installation. 2.2 Site Preparation o Excavate and prepare the site as necessary to ensure a stable foundation for the new safety surface. o Remove existing trees around the fence line (pink line on site map) o Remove overgrown roots lifting current base up o Level and compact the sub-base to meet industry standards for playground safety surfaces. 2.3 Installation of Poured-in-Place Rubberized Safety Surface o Install rubberized duraSAFE tiles safety surface as per attached specifications that meets or exceeds ASTM and CPSC safety standards. o The new surface should include a seamless, durable, and aesthetically pleasing finish. Color to be determined during interviews o Ensure proper drainage and transition to other surfaces or playground equipment. o Ensure that rubberized and underground surfaces can repel and redirect water to prevent freeze lift and elongate lifespan of the surface. 2.4 Quality Assurance o Perform necessary quality checks throughout the project to ensure adherence to specifications and safety standards. o Provide a warranty for workmanship and materials used. 2.5 Clean-up o Clean the site and remove any debris resulting from the installation process. o Ensure the playground area is safe and ready for use upon completion
