CONTRACT DESCRIPTION: Culvert replacement along 100 linear feet (LFT) of an existing/failing culvert to be constructed with an equal or greater hydraulic capacity. On each 50 LFT side, the new culvert shall include a total of 100 LFT of steel sheet pile (SSP) wall installation, utility penetrations through the sheeting for existing public utilities (including as-needed repairs, replacements, and temporary disconnections), and a concrete cap supported by helical piers for lateral support. The scope of work also includes concrete sidewalk replacement, preservation of brick pavers, SESC and local permits with applicable permit measures, temporary traffic control measures, as-needed dewatering, site restoration, and miscellaneous site improvements (handrail edge protection, repair allowance for irrigation and electrical systems). All work must reach substantial completion on or before May 16, 2025, and final completion by May 23, 2025. BIDDING INSTRUCTIONS & SECURITY: A certified check, cashier's check or bid bond in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total amount of the bid, made payable to the Owner will be required with each bid as security for the proper execution of the contract. A 100% Labor, Material, and Performance Bond will be required of a successful bidder. No bid shall be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days after the scheduled opening without the consent of the Owner. The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids, waive any informality in bidding or to accept the bid, consistent with law, which best serves the interest of the Owner.
