Reference Number : 0000364555 The Township of Robbinsville, Mercer County, New Jersey, is bidding for the construction of pedestrian safety and roadway improvements, located within the confines of Meadowbrook Road Grade Crossing across the Right of Way owned by Consolidated Rail Corporation ("Conrail") on the Robbinsville Industrial Track Line. The scope of Work contemplated for the abovenamed Project includes HMA milling, HMA 9.5M64 Surface Course, HMA Pavement repair, Installation of Steel Pedestrian Bridge, Installation of MSE Retaining Wall, Installation of Helical Piles, Installation of Concrete Foundation, Installation of Guide Rail and Nonvegetative Surface, HMA Driveway, Concrete Driveway, Concrete Sidewalk, HMA Sidewalk, Installation of ADA Complaint Curb Ramps, Installation of Thermoplastic Traffic Stripes and Markings, Installation of Regulatory and Warning Signs as well as all other Work of any type or description necessary for contemplation of the Project, whether or not specifically described in these Contract Documents. All Work on this Contract shall be completed within 365 Calendar Days from Notice to Proceed. If indicated, bid proposals must be accompanied by a certified check, cashier's check, or bid bond in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the total amount of the bid, but not in excess of twenty thousand ($20,000) dollars and made payable to the Township of Robbinsville. A final cleanup of all areas disturbed or used as part of the project by the Contractor and/or Subcontractor shall be performed as part of the demobilization. This final clean up should include the removal of all rubbish, excess materials, temporary structures and equipment. All work areas shall be left in an acceptable condition and is subject to the Engineer's inspection and approval. The Contractor shall repair or replace, in kind, all structures and/or surfaces removed or damaged as a result of his operations. Specific attention is called to grass areas and stone areas adjacent to the roadway and any landscaped areas, mailboxes, bollards, etc. must be replaced in kind. Clearing site shall also include removal and relocation of lawn decorations, minor yard structures (including landscape ties), removal and/or resetting and/or replacement of any paver block walkways and driveways, resetting and/or replacement of any underground sprinkler heads, electrical, piping or valves associated with same irrigation system, and all other obstructions within the limits of construction. The Contractor shall determine the manufacturer and model of the existing underground irrigation system prior to disturbing the area. Sprinklers shall be reset or relocated to the surrounding proposed elevations in accordance with the procedures recommended by the manufacturer. Materials which require replacement shall be replaced with materials equal or greater in kind. Clearing site shall also include the removal and/or resetting and/or replacement of any decorative shrubs or hedges. The Contractor shall be responsible to contact the owner of said feature to determine if the owner desires to reclaim it. If the owner should desire to reclaim the item, the Contractor shall then use reasonable care and relocate and reset the item. Clearing site shall also include the removal and salvaging of existing inlet or manhole frames, covers or grates, as well as delivery of any of these items not utilized in this construction contract to the Owner. Clearing site shall also include the removal abandoned underground utility piping and valves, service risers that are abandoned. Clearing site shall include the cleaning of existing storm sewers, manholes and inlets to provide positive drainage of proposed storm sewer discharges into the existing storm sewer system. Clearing Site shall include any minor portions of such landscape features which, in the opinion of the Engineer, may interfere with the work shall be pruned, trimmed or ground or otherwise removed by means and methods and within limits satisfactory to the Engineer. This section describes the requirements of fabricating, galvanizing, furnishing and erecting a pre-engineered, prefabricated steel truss bridge in accordance with the details shown on the Plans, and as specified. In addition, this section describes the requirements for the prefabricated bridge railing. The steel truss bridge shall be manufactured Contech Engineered Solutions, 1-800-338-1122; Pioneer Bridges, 1-866-708- 5778; Excel Bridge Manufacturing Company, 1-800-548-0054 or approved equal. To qualify as an approved equal, the manufacturer will have at least ten (10) years of experience in the manufacturing of prefabricated steel truss highway bridges, and shall demonstrate that it has manufactured at least ten (10) such bridges of similar size to the proposed bridge within the last ten (10) years. A list of similar bridges, including location, span, width, year constructed, owner and name and telephone number of owner's representative shall be provided. Information provided by the Client indicates that an approximately 25-foot long prefabricated pedestrian bridge is proposed to be built across the southern culvert, and a mechanically stabilized earth (MSE) retaining wall is proposed at the location of the northern culvert to assist with constructing a walkway trail with a minimum impact to the grading around existing culvert walkway crossing and limiting disturbance to NJDEP regulated areas to the greatest extent possible. The MSE retaining wall is estimated to be 30 feet in length with the height varying from approximately 1 foot to 3 feet along the alignment. It is our understanding there will be at least 5 feet of soil separation between the top of the northern pipe culvert and the bottom of the retaining wall.
