Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Providence, Rhode Island. Conceptual plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot; bridge / tunnel; and bridge / tunnel.
Henderson Bridge Improvements, Phase 2 This line item provides funding to support design of phase 2 improvements to the henderson bridge and surrounding roadways. Improvements on the providence side will include traffic calming measures, transit improvements, and the completion of shared-use path tie-ins. An overlook on the southern side of the bridge will also be designed. On the east providence side, design will focus on shared use path connections to the work started during phase 1 and the completion of a henderson parkway from massasoit ave to beyond broadway. This project received a $1 million USDOT earmark in 2022 County : Providence As of October 7, 2024, the project is in Conceptual status. Anticipated letting year is 2025. RIDOT- Henderson Bridge Improvements, Phase 2 *Project information has been obtained through a public state transportation improvement plan (STIP). A STIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the STIP often evolves based on funding availability. The project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change. The content management team will continue to pursue additional details as they become available.
