Igloolik existing distribution system is comprised of three feeders F1, F2 and F3. The purpose of this project is to upgrade certain sections of the existing distribution feeders F1, F2 and F3, bringing them up to acceptable industry standards. This project will be performed in three phases (phase1, 2 and 3). These phases will be done over the course of three years where each phase will happen in certain years: phase 1 will involve upgrading feeder 3; phase 2 will involve upgrading feeder 2 and parts of feeder 1; and, phase 3 will involve upgrading rest of feeder 1. The typical tasks involved in this project includes: Upgrade aged or shorter poles to standard 35ft, 45ft and 50 ft poles Upgrading 1 Ph line to 3 Ph for phase load balance at certain locations Re-routing line sections at some locations to manage long spans Raising cables at few locations to manage low sag Replacing end-of-life or damaged pole mount distribution transformers Upgrading 1 Ph and 3 Ph transformers to larger sizes as well as upgrading transformers to larger sizes wherever needed Re-conductoring of overhead line cables from #2 AWG to 1/0 AWG AASC Taking outages, wherever applicable, commissioning, upgrading and energization of the installations Transfer of existing infrastructure to new poles Removal of decommissioned poles and structure The successful bidder shall schedule the work to meet the following deadline. Project Phase 1: start-up 1st week of June 2026 and substantially completed by October 31, 2026 Project Phase 2: start-up 1st week of June 2027 and substantially completed by October 31, 2027 Project Phase 3: start-up 1st week of June 2028 and substantially completed by October 31, 2028 Bid values are undisclosed.
