Construction in a design/build method of a new municipal court that will be located along Boulevard du Souvenir, at the northeast end of the city hall parking area adjoining the Laval Senior Academy secondary school. The new facility will be able to accommodate around 400 persons daily. An underground level will mainly serve as parking and a place of temporary detention for detainees awaiting trial. The 84,035 sq ft 2/1 storey project will be LEED gold certified. The value of the project exceeds $45 million. Note. The main construction project is followed in the report under CRM ID name Design and Build the Municipal Courthouse Project. TIMELINE: The owner has awarded the firm BTY to provide construction work certification services.
