Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in West Des Moines, Iowa. Completed plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field; sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.

This project consists of removal and replacement of the asphalt trail and basketball courts, along with two (2) new pickleball courts at Scenic Valley Park. Questions concerning interpretation or intent of the Contract Documents should be directed to: Erin Tyrrell, PE Shive Hattery 5525 Merle Hay Road #200 Johnston, IA 50131 515-657-5291 Each proposal shall be electronically accompanied by a scanned copy of the bid bond or a scanned copy of a cashier's or certified check drawn on an Iowa bank or a bank chartered under the laws of the United States in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the total amount of the bid. If a bid bond is submitted it must be on the form provided with the contract documents. A physical copy of the bid security will be required to be submitted to the City Clerk's Office by the apparent low bidder within 48 hours of the bid deadline. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a performance and payment bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price guaranteeing faithful performance of the contract and guaranteeing payment to all persons supplying labor and/or materials in the execution of the work provided for in the contract. Additionally the contractor must provide the City with a guarantee of maintenance of said improvement in the form of surety for a period of four (4) years from the time of acceptance by the City. Work on said project shall commence within ten (10) days of the written notice to proceed. Trail paving must commence immediately after HMA recycling work is completed to ensure that the trail closure is minimized. Awarded Contractor must submit proposed Construction Schedule within 7 days of the written notice to proceed. Work shall be completed by May 31, 2025. Liquidated damages in the amount of Two Hundred Fifty dollars ($250.00) per day will be assessed for each day that the work remains uncompleted after the end of the contract period. The City reserves the right to reject any and/or all bids and to waive any and/or all technicalities and/or all irregularities.
