Description of Work: This project will replace the existing data communications cabling with the identified schools. The expectation is that the new cabling will be installed in parallel with existing cabling, so that a defined transition (cut-over) date can be coordinated with the DISD infrastructure Team. This project will upgrade the data communications cabling in seven campus locations. These campuses are: Ryan High School ,Fred Moore High School ,McMath Middle School ,Evers Park Elementary School ,Hodge Elementary School ,Houston Elementary School ,McNair Elementary School Addendum Posted 5:00pm, Friday, October 18, 2024 If VENDOR has any questions about this Solicitation, VENDOR's questions must be submitted in writing, to the DISTRICT via email through the Ionwave electronic bidding system or to the Senior Buyer of record for the bid. Requests for information/interpretation must be received on or before the calendar date notated within the bid document Award and Notice to Proceed Friday, November 15, 2024 Estimated start date: Monday, December 2, 2024 This project will upgrade the data communications cabling in seven campus locations. These campuses are: Ryan High School Fred Moore High School McMath Middle School Evers Park Elementary School Hodge Elementary School Houston Elementary School McNair Elementary School This project will replace the existing data communications cabling with the identified schools. The expectation is that the new cabling will be installed in parallel with existing cabling, so that a defined transition (cut-over) date can be coordinated with the DISD infrastructure Team. 2. All old data communications cabling will then be removed. The timing of this is to be coordinated with the DISD Infrastructure Team. 3. Category 6 cabling is specified for all horizontal data cabling, wth the exception of any cables serving a wireless access point. 4. For each wireless access point, two Category 6A cables shall be installed. 5. Furnish and install materials for the communications infrastructure systems as specified herein and as shown on the drawings. Upon completion, the systems shall be functioning systems in compliance with performance requirements and warranties as specified. 6. Wiring utilized for data and analog communications will originate at existing Owner provided telecommunications equipment and in existing or new equipment racks located at the IDF. Wiring, terminations and patch bays between these designated demarcation points and outlet locations designated on the plans will be considered part of the contract. Work area outlets (WAO) will be furnished, wired and installed by the system Contractor. 7. The system will utilize a network of unshielded twisted pair station cables and fiber optic backbone. Cables and terminations will be provided by the Contractor and located as shown and in the quantities indicated on the drawings. 8. All cables and terminations will be identified at all locations. 9. All cables will terminate in a District approved scheme at all termination locations. 10. All copper cable terminations will comply with ANSI/TIA/EIA 568-B standards for Category 6 (Cat 6) and Augmented Category 6 (CAT 6A) installations. 11. Contractor is required to submit project documentation upon completion of installation. The documentation is essential for timely implementation of communication systems. Documentation includes but may not be limited to all test documentation and all record drawings (as-builts). Station cables will terminate on one, two or three gang wall plates equipped as shown on the drawings. 13. For each data location as indicated on drawings, provide the number of horizontal cables as noted to the nearest or specified MDF/IDF room. Enclosure shall be secured and supported using structural red iron, J-hooks, or other approved method. 14. Classroom Data Standard. The typical DISD Classroom is served with 8 data cables.
