Demolition and site work for a residential development in Fairmont, West Virginia. Completed plans call for the demolition of a residential development; and for site work for a residential development.
SCOPE OF WORK: The awarded vendor is to provide all necessary labor, equipment, permits, materials, insurance, etc. to perform the complete asbestos mitigation, demolition, and removal of the following structure: 217 MONROE STREET FAIRMONT, WV 2. PERMITTING AND LICENSING: The awarded vendor, hereinafter "Contractor", shall obtain the following permits and licenses if awarded this bid: a. City of Fairmont DEMOLITION PERMIT Contact Building Inspection (304) 366-6212, Ext. 303 b. City of Fairmont BUSINESS LICENSE Contact Business Licensing (304) 366-6212, Ext. 330 Contractor is to demolish the structure at 217 Monroe Street: District 03 - Map 01 - Parcels 158 and 234, including all roof, floors, interior walls (except for those explicitly requested to be preserved), and to completely remove all debris from the premises unless stated otherwise. All properties that are outlined with City of Fairmont Sidewalk, are to be left intact. Any additional specific instructions are listed below A. Front façade, excluding features within the fenestrations (windows, doors, storefronts, etc.), must be preserved. This does not require the preservation of the concrete steps leading up to the front doors. B. The steel girders spanning between the common walls must be preserved. C. All stone foundations and brick common walls must be preserved D. The basement floor slab must be preserved E. The interior stairwell walls on the southern side of the site against the former Monroe Street Fire Station must be preserved. F. The common wall below Monroe Street grade on the northern side of the site must be sealed with a moisture barrier coating to prevent water intrusion into the adjoining basement. G. All material is assumed hazardous material due to the inability to safely test for asbestos and lead. NON-DISCRIMINATION: In accordance with the federal "Americans with Disabilities Act" (the Act), the City of Fairmont will not discriminate against individuals with disabilities, and will not do business with vendors who discriminate against such individuals in violation of the Act. Please fill out the notification to attend form, included in the bid packet, and email it to the Purchasing Coordinator at tdelimpo@fairmontwv.gov. During this meeting, there is the possibility, if requested, to walk to the site of the demolition. The location is approximately 2 blocks away from our meeting location.
