James City Service Authority is soliciting Two-Step competitive sealed bids from qualified and experienced professional contractors licensed in the state of Virginia with the demonstrated capability and capacity for the Wexford Hills W-28 #1A Well Replacement as described in this Invitation for Bids. The proposed work consists of the development, drilling, construction and testing of a new 6-inch, Class IIB, PVC, gravel packed water supply production well for the Wexford Hills Water System (PWSID # 3095862) located at 5701 Riverview Road, Williamsburg, VA 23188. The well will be located in the Chickahominy Piney Point Aquifer with an anticipated depth of 330 feet deep. Actual depth and construction to be determined based on geologic interpretations of cuttings and the geophysical log and to be approved by the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ). Contractor shall submit recommendations to the Owner for approval. These specifications include requirements for the provision of all materials, equipment and labor relating to drilling, geophysical logging, installing casing and screens, disinfecting, and testing (quality and quantity) of the well. The approved well site is identified as W-28 #lA (DEQ# 147-00353) located at 37.38886 N, 76.71722 W. The project includes the abandonment of the existing W-28 #1 (DEQ# 147-00236) well upon completion of the replacement well. The project includes the installation of a new pump and motor assembly, transducer tube, drop pipe, check valve, pitless unit and related appurtenances for the replacement well. The project includes the piping, conduit, junction boxes, and other mechanical, site, and electrical work required to tie the new well into the existing facility.
