Site work and paving for a sidewalk / parking lot in Preston, Connecticut. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.

The Contract consists of pulverizing and recycling the existing pavement, and mixing it with the existing pavement base to a minimum depth of 12 inches. Paving work will include regrading and rolling the recycled material and applying two courses of bituminous concrete [2" Class 1 and 1 1/2 " Class 2], installation of new curbing, paved drainage leak-offs and pavement markings and all other work as shown on the project plans. This project also includes the removal and replacement of the Town Hall front entry concrete steps and ramps. NOTE: 1. Electrical conduit to be installed by others 2. If the Contractor chooses, surplus reclaimed material may be hauled to the Preston Public Works garage located at 423 Route 2, Preston. 3. Alternate 1 includes the installation of the rain garden, including all clearing and grubbing, as specified on the plans. This shall not be included in the base bid price 4. Alternate 2 requests a price per square yard to overlay the existing entrance driveway, including keyway installation, tack coat, and 1 1/2 " Class 2 bituminous concrete The selected Contractor must obtain bonding, insurance and sign a contract within five (5) days of receipt of notice of award. The bidder must agree to commence work on or before a date to be specified in a written "Notice to Proceed" of the Municipality and to fully complete the project on or before 30 consecutive calendar days thereafter. The bidder must agree also to pay as liquidated damages, the sum of $1,000.00 for each consecutive calendar day thereafter. The Town reserves the right to reject any or all bids, in whole or in part, to award any item, group of items, or total bid, and to waive any informality in the bids received if it deems it to be in the best interest of the Town to do so.
