The City of Ames is accepting bids from qualified contractors to replace flooring and paint in the Ames City Hall for the Fleet and Facilities Department. Each bid shall include the bid security as defined in Code of Iowa Section 26.8 and as specified in the Instructions to Bidders. Each successful bidder shall be required to furnish a corporate surety bond in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of its contract price. Said bond to be issued by a responsible surety approved by the City Council and shall guarantee the faithful performance of the contract and the terms and conditions therein contained and shall guarantee the prompt payment of all material and labor, and protect and save harmless the City from claims and damages of any kind caused by the operations of the contract and shall also guarantee the maintenance of the improvement in good repair for a period of one year from and after the completion and acceptance by the City. After award and approval of contract and performance bond, work on this contract shall substantially completed no later than June 1, 2025.
