Description: The CCLBA invites the submission of proposals from licensed electrical contractors to provide electrical services for 56 Lathrop St, Battle Creek, Michigan. Licensed companies with demonstrated experience in this area and an interest in making their services available to the CCLBA are invited to respond to this RFP. The CCLBA seeks sealed proposals from Respondents to provide labor and materials associated with Electrical services at 56 Lathrop in compliance with all applicable ordinances and codes of the City of Battle Creek. Project work includes, but is not limited to, installing a new electrical panel, wiring for entire home; lighting (interior and exterior), outlets (interior and exterior), GFCI circuits in all required places, hard wire smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, A full scope of work can be found in Appendix A. The Contractor shall obtain and pay for all permits, and licenses required by any ordinance, code and regulation of the jurisdictions in which the work is to be done. All permits, licenses or testing required by any ordinance, code or regulation of the State of Michigan or local municipality that is required for the performance, completion and execution of this project shall be the responsibility of the selected Contractor. All inspections and reports will be presented to Property Projects Coordinator prior to final payment for the project. Electrical Services - 56 Lathrop Ave, Battle Creek Specification Considerations and Requirements: 1. This is lead-based paint abatement project. Refer to the Lead Inspection Risk Assessment (LIRA) to address all lead abatement activity/options. All State required notifications for the lead work will need to be completed as well as clearance exams passed. All documentation will be required as part of the documentation process. 2. This project will have separate bids for Plumbing, Mechanical, and Electrical portions of the project. General Contractor will be responsible for coordinating this work with possibly new subcontractors for design, rough-in and finish work. 3. Awarded subcontractors for Plumbing, Mechanical and Electrical will be expected to work diligently with the General Contractor to complete work on a timely basis to not hold up others in the process 4. CCLBA will be working with Consumers Energy to provide extra support for the energy efficiencies for this rehab. This will provide the low- to moderate-income homeowner with an affordable home upon completion. Permit 1. Obtain all necessary permits and licenses as required by the City of Battle Creek Building Inspections Division. Furnish copies of all final permits with final invoice (Rough-in and Final passed inspections), to the Property Projects Coordinator at CCLBA as well as to the General Contractor. WORK SPECIFICATIONS EXTERIOR 1) Install two exterior outlet to code on the house; a. one on front porch entry. b. one near rear porch. 2) Install motion-sensor lighting in the following locations: a. front porch entry b. rear porch entry INTERIOR Lighting 1. Install lighting as specified in the following areas of the first floor: a. Entry way - overhead lighting b. Living room - lighting with ceiling fan - Verify style selection with CCLBA c. Dining room lighting - Verify style selection with CCLBA d. Kitchen - overhead with possible directional for lighting several spaces. Verify style selection with CCLBA e. Bathroom/Laundry Room (first floor) - overhead lighting f. Basement - on landing and in basement area g. Stair way - on landing h. Bedroom 1- front - lighting with ceiling fan - Verify style selection with CCLBA. i. Bedroom 2 & 3 (rear) - overhead lighting j. Attic storage room - overhead lighting k. Bathroom upstairs - Lighting overhead and over sink. Electrical Panel 1. Remove electrical service equipment panels. 2. Install new electrical 100-amp electrical service and breaker panel to code. a. All circuit breaker in panel needs to be tracked and labeled for location. b. Include new mast, meter and entrance cables as required by utility service. c. Installation of new service shall meet the requirement of the National Electrical code and pass local inspection by City of Battle Creek Electrical Inspector. d. All work required to have safe utility connection must be completed, inspected and approved.
