The project consisits of treatment improvements at the existing lagoon facility and manhole and gravity sewer main rehabilitations. The treatment improvements at the lagoon facility are located at the south end of S. Park St. and the manhole and gravity sewer rehabilitations are spread throughout the City - see construction plan sheets for locations. B. The electric supply provider does not yet have all the required easements for construction of electrical poles to the project site. This project is being bid without those easements. Electrical line construction cannot begin without the required easements obtained. Engineer will provide notification to Contractor when the easements for electrical power supply are obtained and the electric company can move forward with work. 1.04 GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF WORK A. The work involves construction of the following list. While means and methods of work are the sole responsibility of the Contractor, the list below is recommended for the sequencial installation of improvements, while continuing to meet the City's current effluent limits. 1. Temporary bypass pumping and any necessary temporary treatment to complete the constuction as shown on the drawings, if needed. Shoring, temporary berms, or other methods allowed to complete the construction as shown on the drawings, if needed. 2. Headworks improvements for course screening, (if additive alternate is awarded) 3. Sludge reduction by means of non-pathogenic bacteria. Lagoon draw down in not anticipated with this type of sludge reduction, (if additive alternate is awarded) 4. Installation of blowers for air addition in lagoon cells 1 and 2 and MBBR reactor blower units and associated anchors and air piping to operate a complete system. 5. Installation of new discharge piping from lagoon cell 2 effluent, new piping from cell 3 effluent, splitter structure, airlift tank, airlift piping, MBBR reactor tanks, air blowers, diffusers in MBBR reactor tanks, aerators in lagoon, air piping from blowers to diffusers and aerators, clarifier tank, clarifier pumps, forcemain piping, installation of Owner pre-purchased UV disinfection system, equipment pads, magnetic flow meter and structure, yard piping, ancillary piping, process piping, and remaining details as shown on the drawings. 6. Metal awnings over UV equipment and blower units, (if additive alternate is awarded) 7. Demolition of unneeded process structures and piping. Connection to newly constructed structures and piping. 8. Site grading and gravel paving and site restoration as shown on drawings
