Furnishing and installing all items contained in the drawings and specifications by Sorensen Partners | Architects + Planners, Inc. Location-40 Fairbank Rd Sudbury, MA 01776 Each Bid must be accompanied by a bid security consisting of a BID BOND, CASH, or, CERTIFIED CHECK issued by a responsible bank or trust company in the amount of 5% of the bid price. A performance bond in an amount equal to 100 percent of the total amount of the contract price with a surety company qualified to do business in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts will be required for the faithful performance of the contract, as well as a labor and materials bond in an amount equal to 100 percent of the total contract price. All bids for this project are subject to applicable public bidding laws of Massachusetts, including, but not limited to G.L. c.149, 44A-44H, as amended. Attention is directed to the minimum wage rates to be paid as determined by the Massachusetts Department of Labor Standards and the weekly payroll record submittal requirements under the provisions of Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 149, Section 26 through 27D inclusive. Selection of the DCAMM certified contractor will be based upon bidder qualifications, including evidence of past performance in similar projects, and bid price. The contract will be awarded to the bidder deemed by the awarding authority to be the lowest responsible and eligible bidder. The bidder agrees that its bid shall be good and may not be withdrawn for a period of 30 days, Saturdays, Sundays and legal holidays excluded, after the opening of the bids. The Town reserves the right to waive any informalities, to accept or reject, in whole or in part any or all bids, or take whatever other action may be deemed to be in the best interest of the Town. The project scope consists of roofing replacement and repairs. The intent is to provide a sound roofing system that is leak free and weathertight. At project completion, Contractor shall provide a written guarantee that covers all defects in workmanship and materials for a period of two (2) years from date of acceptance, and a roofing system manufacturer's thirty (30) year system warranty that is PV ready per code. General Bidders are to be DCAMM certified in Roofing (Prime). The Roofing Contractor shall be the General Contractor. The general scope of the construction work is as follows: Re-roofing of the existing 2:12 pitched roofing system utilizing a "tear-off" application. A new adhered white EPDM roof membrane system (90-mil minimum thickness) is specified and detailed complete with a manufacturer's 30-year full system warranty Associated Repair Work Items include: (A) Remove and replace deteriorated wood blocking (refer to Unit Prices Item #2); (B) Overlay deteriorated sections of laminate T&G wood decking with 3/4" marine grade plywood (refer to Unit Prices Item #1); (C) Remove and replace materials associated with existing cricket in northeast corner of roof.
