Valley Springs Middle School Chiller Replacement. Work shall consist of furnishing all labor, taxes, materials, equipment, services, permits; incidental and implied; to install a complete and warranted retrofit system as designed per the attached drawings and specifications: Disconnect and remove the old chiller. The chiller shall be removed safely and shall not damage any of the building or grounds. If damage occurs, contractor shall be responsible for repairing back to original condition. Any tools/equipment needed for removal and re-installation shall be the responsibility of the contractor. The unit shall be disposed of properly, meeting all requirements established under section 608 of the Clean Air Act. Any required alterations to the equipment pad shall be the Contractors responsibility. Supply and install indoor water cooled Chiller per specifications. The design is based on Carrier Model 23XRV3232NQVAA50-. A BCS Operations Manager and/or Project Manager must be present and sign off on the new Chiller when delivered on site. All piping shall be supported in a sound mechanical means. All supports and brackets are to be galvanized or painted (2 coats) with a rust inhibiting paint. A 4x4 plate to be welded to the support, closed at the top and anchored to the pad. All installations must meet or exceed the printed manufacturer's recommendations. Code compliant as pertains to clearances, locations and accessories, etc. There shall be a thermometer and pressure gauge (with bleeder valves) on the inlet and outlet of the chiller piping. A drain (ball) valve shall be installed at the chiller barrel's lowest drain plug. The chiller barrel evaporator heads must be insulated on both ends. Power wiring, Service outlet, controls wiring, breakers, disconnects, conduit, motor starter change out/modifications and any other accessory needed to accomplish installation shall be the responsibility of the contractor and included as part of this project.
