Renovation of a medical facility in Port Coquitlam, British Columbia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a medical facility.
This Invitation to Tender is being issued by the Health Organization for the Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) which is a client-centered, recovery-oriented mental health service delivery model that has received substantial empirical support for facilitating community living, psychosocial rehabilitation, and recovery for persons who have the most serious mental illnesses, severe symptoms, and impairments, and have not benefited from traditional outpatient programs. The ACT team serving the Tri-Cities area requires a more functional space in a location more central to the communities served to align with current CSA sizing recommendations and program growth. The new Mental Health & Substance Use Facility (MHSU) will be located centrally at Unit 207/208 - 2248 Elgin Ave in Port Coquitlam. The proposed leased space (281sqm or 3,025sqft) is slightly smaller (24sqm smaller, or 262sqft) than the space needed per the Schedule of Accommodations (305sqm or 3,287sqft). The project is planned to start seeing patients at the location by end of May 2025. To meet the timelines for the implementation of the Facility, expedient and optimized design, procurement and implementation strategies are required.
