the furnishing of all labor, material and equipment for construction of the following approximate major quantities: Concrete Walk (ADA) 2798 SQ FT Concrete Curb & Gutter Design B624 322 LIN FT Revise Signal System A 1 SYSTEM Revise Signal System B 1 SYSTEM Revise Signal System C 1 SYSTEM Document notes: Contractors may examine or obtain an optional paper set of Proposal Forms, Plans, and Specifications from City of Minnetonka, for $50.00 per set. Checks should be made out to the City of Minnetonka. No refunds. Copies of the plans and project manuals may also be examined at the office of the City Engineer, 14600 Minnetonka Boulevard, Minnetonka, MN. All bids must be made online Contractors submitting an electronic bid will be charged an additional $42 at the time of bid submission via the online electronic bid service. Each proposal must have with it a certified check or bid bond payable to the city of Minnetonka in the amount of five [5] percent of the bid as a guarantee the bidder will enter into a contract with the city of Minnetonka in accordance with the terms of the bid, in case the bidder is awarded the contract. The city reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids and to waive minor irregularities. Furnish, install, maintain, and remove all traffic control devices required to provide safe movement of traffic and pedestrians through the Project at all times from commencement of the Work until Project Acceptance. Maintain roads and pedestrian facilities undergoing improvements in a condition that accommodates public traffic. Do not close roads or pedestrian facilities, except as authorized. The Engineer may modify the requirements for traffic control as deemed necessary. All temporary traffic management must conform to and be installed in accordance with: o the "Minnesota Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices" (MN MUTCD); o the "Minnesota Temporary Traffic Control Field Manual" (Field Manual); o the "Speed Limits in Work Zones Guidelines"; o the "Minnesota Flagging Handbook"; o the "MnDOT Standard Signs and Markings Manual"; o the Plan; o all applicable standard specifications and special provisions. This Work includes furnishing, installing, maintaining, and removing all traffic control devices required to provide safe movement of pedestrians through the Project at all times from commencement of the Work until Project Acceptance in accordance with S-X (2563) Traffic Control. The Contractor must coordinate his/her activities with the activities of all owners of utilities present within the project limits. Coordination includes, but is not limited to: Scheduling Contractor operations, identifying and communicating appropriately scheduled timing of private utility owner operations to the City and applicable utility owners, all to avoid scheduling conflicts delaying completion of the Work. Managing and paying fees charged by utility owners for construction services Expending all time necessary to properly communicate and work with utility owners within the project limits regarding installation locations of public and private facilities to avoid direct or indirect conflicts. The plans depict known underground utilities, public and private. Unless otherwise specified in the plans, the locations shown are to "Utility Quality Level D". No assurance is given that additional underground facilities do not exist. The Contractor must make his/her own investigation to determine to what extent existing utilities will affect his work. The location, protection, maintenance and/or repair, if damaged, of all in-place utilities shall be the responsibility of the Contractor. Where construction operations require the interruption of service of a utility, the Contractor must notify that utility at least forty eight (48) hours before the interruption and shall advise him of the probable time when the service will be restored. Work anticipated to be performed around existing light poles shall be coordinated with the owner of the facility. The Contractor must notify the City and utility owner at least forty eight (48) hours prior construction activity near light poles.
