101 MA 051 101-B-(212)T Price Freeway (SR202 Red Mountain to US60) The proposed work is located on SR 101L (Price Freeway) in Maricopa County, starting near the Salt River at milepost (MP) 51.0 to MP 55.0, just south of US 60. The work consists of replacing existing High Pressure Sodium (HPS) luminaires with Light Emitting Diode (LED) Luminaires and other related work. Question Deadline 06/03/2025 The Department May Not Answer All Questions, and Any Decision on Whether a Question is Answered Will Be Within the Sole Discretion of the Department. Any Questions Received Less Than Three Working Days Prior to The Bid Opening Date May Not Be Answered. NorthWest District Item # 104498 Engineering Specialist: Jannatul Joarder The time allowed for the completion of the work included in this contract will be 295 calendar days. The minimum contract-specified goal for participation by Disadvantaged Business Enterprises in the work, as a percentage of the total amount bid, shall be 5.79%. The Application for Contractor Prequalification may be obtained from the Contracts and Specifications website. A proposal guaranty in the form of either a certified or a cashier's check made payable to the State Treasurer of Arizona for not less than 10 percent of the amount of the bid or in the form of a surety (bid) bond for 10 percent of the amount of the bid shall accompany the proposal. AZDOT - System Preservation (Restoration/Rehab/Resurface) - SR 101L (Price Freeway) SCOPE OF WORK: 104.04 Maintenance of Traffic: of the Standard Specifications is modified to add: (D) General Traffic Control Information: The project shall be constructed in accordance with the most recent versions of Part VI of the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD), 2009 Edition, with the Arizona Supplement to the 2009 MUTCD, the Arizona Department of Transportation Traffic Control Design Guidelines (TCDG), and the traffic control plans. The contractor is responsible for establishing the traffic control necessary to provide a safe and efficient work zone without unduly delaying traffic. Alterations and modifications to the traffic control plans and special provisions will be considered if they conform to the references listed above. Any changes or revisions to the traffic control requirements in the traffic control plans and Special Provisions must be approved in advance by the Engineer. The contractor shall develop and submit traffic control plans for the Engineer's approval, in accordance with these Special Provisions and as specified in Section 701 of the Specifications at no cost to the Department. An approved traffic control plan will be required for any shoulder or lane closures utilized for the project. The temporary removal or covering of existing signs shall be in accordance with Section 701- 3.11 and 701-5.10 of the Standard Specifications. For all affected crossroads, specific traffic control plans shall be submitted by the contractor to the Engineer for ADOT approval as well as the City of Tempe or City of Mesa when ramp closure signsshall be installed in City right of way. Traffic control devices shall not be installed more than 30 minutes before the beginning of a closure and shall be entirely removed from the roadway and shoulders within 30 minutes of the end of the closure and will not be permitted to remain stockpiled on the shoulder until the next closure unless directed by the Engineer. When a changeable message board is used, its installation and operations shall be in accordance with the requirements specified in subsection 701-3.08 of the specifications. Changeable message boards shall be placed a minimum of seven calendar days prior to start of work and shall remain for the duration of the project. All messages shall be approved by the Engineer prior to being displayed.
