Debris Removal & Monitoring Services. THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) ONLY. Please note that this Request for Information (RFI) is for informational purposes only, and no contract will be awarded as a result. An organization's response to the RFI or lack there of will have no impact on the evaluation of responses to any subsequent Request for Proposals (RFPs). Any and all costs associated with or arising from the RFI process incurred by the organization shall be absorbed by the organization, without reimbursement by the City. Not responding to the RFI does not preclude participation in any future RFP. Please note that all responses will be public record. Do not submit confidential or proprietary information in your response. Do not include proprietary or classified information when asking questions. Respondents may not directly contact or communicate with a City of Sugar Land employee in relation to this RFI. Instead, we ask that questions be submitted only through the Open Gov Procurement portal. Verbal questions will NOT be accepted. Responses to this RFI will be used by the City of Sugar Land to inform future debris removal & monitoring services and operations. Our stakeholders are the City of Sugar Land residential customers. The City of Sugar Land (City) is located in eastern Fort Bend County, approximately 20 miles southwest of downtown Houston. It was founded as a sugar plantation in the mid-1800s and incorporated in 1959. The City has a population of approximately 118,498 and covers 42.85 square miles or 27,424.23 acres in city limits. The elevation of most of the city is between 70 and 90 feet (21 and 27 m) above sea level. The City has experienced some major storms, hurricanes, and flooding events that generated debris and waste ranging from 2,000 to 200,000 cubic yards and prompted extensive pre-planning for recovery activities.
