Closing Time:2:00 PM (NT) Question Acceptance Deadline 2024/10/30 12:00:00 PM NDT Snow clearing and ice control contract for service at the Centre scolaire et communautaire Sainte-Anne in Mainland, NL. Term is 2 full school years with the possibility of extension for another 2 years. a) The Contractor shall proceed with snow clearing operations at any time when total accumulated snowfall exceeds five (5) centimetres or when drifting occurs to such a degree that it will impede the smooth flow of vehicular and pedestrian traffic. The Contractor must visit the site as required to assess snowfall and drifting. Fire lanes shall be kept open at all times. b) Snow clearing and ice control activity shall be provided seven days a week including holidays. On school days, snow clearing operation must not take place between 7:15 am and 3:15 pm unless otherwise specifically directed by the principal when required to ensure all areas are cleared so that traffic can proceed in a routine and safe manner with corners cleared so that vision is not obstructed. c) The Contractor shall ensure that all parking lots, parking lot entrances, tuming areas, laneways and fire lanes will be cleared of snow and the sand and salt mixture applied, if necessary, for 7:15 a.m. on regular school and business days - Monday to Friday and for 8:15 a.m. on weekends and on holidays. d) To ensure that all parking spaces are available for parking throughout the entire period of the Contract, the Contractor shall clear and where necessary remove all accumulations of all snow from all parking lots, parking lot entrances & exits, turning areas, access roads and fire lanes as set out herein (the "Work"). All areas are to be cleared so that traffic can proceed in a routine and safe manner with corners cleared so that vision is not obstructed. e) Snow shall be cleared in such a manner to avoid leaving a buildup of any snow or ice. Any such buildup of snow or ice left on cleared areas is to be removed at no cost to the Owner. f) No significant accumulation of snow may be permitted in the immediate proximity of the main central entrance to the building, the windows or in the immediate vicinity of the flagpoles. This blocks the view from inside and constitutes a safety hazard. Furthermore, no significant accumulation of snow that blocks vision of the playground area from the school building facing outwards (windows and both the school and main building entrances) shall be permitted. In the event of the accumulation of large quantities of snow that could block such vision, the contractor is advised to push or transport the snow to the basketball court. g) The Contractor shall provide the principal with an acceptable communication system which will permit for 24-hour contact with (access to) the Contractor.
