Madera County Flood Control and Water Conservation Agency(MCFCWCA) requires Professional Engineering Services related to planning, design, the modification/rehabilitation of existing patrol and access roads situated within the project levee segments located in multiple leveed areas, however the repair work is only proposed along the Fresno River, Berenda Slough, and Ash Slough in SJ05, SJ11, SJ12, & SJ13. Scope: The proposed gravelling project will recondition approximately 17.1 miles of the deteriorated levee crowns and/or access ramps within NA 0011's boundaries. Specifically, the project proposes to repair existing patrol road alignments by scarifying and re-compacting the upper six inches of the entire levee crown and then overlaying the existing patrol road with 4" of Class 2 Aggregate Base, 3/4 " Max., at 90% relative compaction, per the 2010 Caltrans Standard Specifications, Section 26 or approved equal. In addition to the gravel road work, the project may entail additional work items associated with the gravel road project includes transitional areas, gates and haul road maintenance, minimal vegetation removal and the grouting of existing rodent holes. The limits of these work items will be further defined in the plans, specifications, and bid packets. Any additional gravel on ramps/transitions and haul road maintenance will be to match to existing or repair project damages. There will be no improvement or betterments outside the project area. The intent will be to remove and replace gate(s) during the project in order to raise gate(s) to the appropriate elevation after adding four (4) inches of aggregate base rock.
