Project Description This project includes renovating the approximately 5,940 square feet existing fire station, expanding it by approximately 8,250 square feet. When complete, the building should represent a finished structure and meet the requirements of an essential services building. The Town desires a metal building with a life span of more than thirty (30) years, constructed of materials that present a pleasing appearance yet require low levels of maintenance, and afford reasonable security for the occupants and the property contained therein. The contractor shall include a 30 year warranty. Roofs to be tied in for proper stormwater runoff and roof drains in compliance with New Milford Inland Wetlands and MS4 requirements This RFP seeks a best value proposal that includes every aspect of design planning, construction, and delivery of a fully expanded and functional fire station. The project may include the following professional services: Surveying Civil Engineering Geotechnical Engineering Landscape Architecture Architecture Code Compliance Permitting (i.e. Local Zoning, Inland Wetlands, Building Code, Fire Code, DPW, MS4, WPCA) CHRO Compliance/Filings, if required Structural Engineering Mechanical Engineering (HVAC and plumbing) Electrical Engineering Cost Estimating Construction Management/Clerk of the Works Based upon the outcome of this process, The Town will award a thirty (30) month contract. In addition to the bid specifications, all bids are subject to the terms, provisions and conditions of the New Milford "Municipal Purchases" Ordinance, set forth in article III, Section 2-92 (a) through (o) inclusive, of the Code of New Milford.
