Site work for a road / highway in Dawsonville, Georgia. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway.

This is an invitation to submit a bid to Dawson County for standby road striping. Vendor shall provide all materials, equipment, labor, and traffic control necessary for painting 4" striping on various roadways in Dawson County, Georgia. Pricing shall include paint for lane miles and reflective paint; and shall include all required striping widths. All questions/comments that may arise from this invitation must be submitted in writing and emailed to the Purchasing Manager at mhawk@dawsoncounty.org no later than November 6, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. All questions and answers will be posted to the County website and the Georgia Procurement Registry no later than November 19, 2024, at 1:30 p.m. Dawson County provides equal opportunity for all businesses and does not discriminate against any person or business because of race, color, religion, sex, national origin and handicap or veteran status. Specifications Vendor shall be able to provide standard road striping paint and the new high build paint. All work including site preparation, materials, construction requirements including inspections, certificates and warranties shall be in conformance with the current editions of the GDOT Georgia Standard Specifications Manual, the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD), and current Dawson County Standards and Specifications. Additionally, Sections 652 and 870 of GDOT Georgia Standard Specifications Manual provide additional information that should be adhered to for the purposes of this request for proposal. Vendor shall provide all materials, equipment, labor, and traffic control necessary for painting 4" striping on various roadways in Dawson County, Georgia. Pricing shall include paint for lane miles and reflective paint; and shall include all required striping widths. Contractor will be required to work within the County's schedule to meet county deadlines and provide the necessary reflective markings to roadways for public safety. Contractor will receive approval and scheduling of needed work from the Dawson County Public Works Director or designee. Work must be performed under a Purchase Order number issued by the Purchasing Department. Amount of work will be based on budget availability within the contracted year; the County guarantees no quantity of work under the contract. Payment will be made upon actual amount of striping completed at the bid unit prices. Subcontracting Any person undertaking a part of the work under the terms of the contract, by virtue of an agreement with the Vendor/Contractor, must receive the approval of the Dawson County Public Works Director or designee prior to any such undertaking. The County may terminate the contract if the subcontracting is done without this approval. Safety Measures Vendor/Contractor shall take all necessary precautions for the safety of employees on the worksite and shall erect and properly maintain at all times, as required on job conditions and process of the work, all necessary safeguards for the protection of the workmen and public including traffic control and warning signs. Measurements: Reference 652.4 of GDOT Georgia Standard Specifications Manual When traffic stripe is paid for by the square yard (meter), the number of square yards (meters) painted is measured and the space between stripes is included in the overall measurement. Note: Dawson County is requesting that this measurement be provided in linear mile as the unit of measure for bidding purposes per the Vendor's Financial Proposal Form. Linear measurements are made on the painted surface by an electronic measuring device attached to a vehicle. On curves, chord measurements, not exceeding 100 linear feet (30 linear meters), are used. Traffic stripe and markings, complete in place, are measured and accepted for payment as follows: A. Solid Traffic Stripe Solid traffic stripe is measured by the linear foot (meter), linear mile (kilometer), or square yard (meter). Breaks or omissions in solid lines or stripes at street or road intersections are not measured. B. Skip Traffic Stripe Skip traffic stripe is measured by the gross linear foot (meter) or gross linear mile (kilometer). Unpainted spaces between the stripes are included in the overall measurements if the Plan ratio of 1 to 3 remains uninterrupted. Measurement begins and ends on a stripe. C. Pavement Markings Markings are words and symbols completed according to Plan dimensions. Markings are measured by the unit. Management Agent/Employees The Vendor shall assign a main point of contact that will be responsible for scheduling the jobs as requested and consult with the County on current and future services. Warranty All work shall be guaranteed against failure for a period of one (1) year after installation. County Responsibilities The County will provide fuel and water for use during performance of services. The County will be responsible for clean up at each site.
